Lately we've discovered some odd rules in the Commonwealth. We knew about this rule but had forgotten about it till we arrived at Whole Foods shortly after it opened this morning:
This rule applies to restaurants, too. It's been a looooong time since I've stumbled into a place for brunch before noon, but anyway, what if I wanted a mimosa??? Personally, I think brunch places--especially those with all-you-can-eat Sunday brunches--would bring in so much more money if the rule were lifted. There's a local food review team that is actually leading the way to change the rules, but I haven't seen it implemented yet.
Two other rules that left us scratching our heads:
1. No physical contact between customers and dancers at strip clubs.
2. Happy hour was banned in Massachusetts in 1984. However, to get around this, restaurants/bars typically hold all-day deals, instead, during the week, such as "$2 PBR pitchers on Tuesdays". You can read more here.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
