GUESS WHO'S BACK?
SNUGLZ!!
Yes, 5 years since it was filed as planned non-operational status, the Wabbit is running again. It had been in our carport, till the owner of our building claimed the fire inspection said it couldn't be there [hmmm...maybe our using it as extra storage gave it away]. I planned to donate it, but couldn't bring myself to call them back to arrange an appointment. So little by little, my dad got it fixed. It needs a paint job due to little specks of rust here and there. And although AC complained that it would be a hassle, he's actually been having fun tweaking it. For example, the gas cap lock was busted [it's not uncommon for me to get back a working car with something different fucked up by my dad's mechanics. I suspect it's because he feels that they owe him favors just because he's their banker], as if someone tried to open it with the wrong key. So AC ordered a VW star-shaped one, along with a new wiper fluid pump and tube. Additionally, a long time ago, a friend of his messed up the inside passenger door handle, so AC took the panel off and fixed that, too!SNUGLZ!!

Then AC noticed that you can fold down the passenger seat for more cargo room, and he decided he needed to know how to do that...

So far, we've driven it to San Mateo, and to the train station a few times. I'm scared it will overheat, so I'm taking baby steps, which AC finds totally amusing. The radio is even better than the one in the Corolla--it's a Kenwood CD player with three different 6-station FM presets.
Too bad I can't make the LRP BBQ--it would have been funny to drive up in this car!
